According to the Wills Act 1959, there are no special qualifications needed when writing a legally binding Will in Malaysia.
Hence, you do not need to hire a lawyer to create a Will so long as:
1. You are at least 18 years old (21 years old in Sabah);
2. Be of sound mind; and
3. Have the will signed by you and 2 witnesses who are not beneficiaries & spouse of your beneficiaries.
